In order to deeply implement the strategy of strengthening the school with talents and in accordance with the development needs of the 14th Five Year Plan of the School of Science, we will further strengthen the talent introduction efforts of the School of Science. From November 21st to 22nd, our institute held the 6th International Youth Scholars Forum sub forum in 2023.
On the evening of the 21st, Tian Huaixiang, Director of the Human Resources Department, Zhou Yifeng, Deputy Director, Li Yigui, Dean of the School of Science, Chen Lei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Science, and representatives of domestic and foreign scholars and young teachers invited by the School of Science to attend the offline conference attended the symposium and exchange meeting.
Tian Huaixiang had friendly exchanges with each scholar and gained a detailed understanding of their professional background. She pointed out that students are our products, teachers are our craftsmen, and the school particularly needs the participation of new talents. As long as there are achievements in our school, it is still easy to stand out. She earnestly hopes that outstanding scholars can join the warm family of the School of Science. Then, we provided a detailed introduction to our school's policies on talent introduction, talent cultivation, and professional title promotion, as well as the conditions for applying for talent related projects in Shanghai.
Li Yigui and Chen Lei provided a detailed introduction to the development of the School of Science, and patiently and meticulously answered the questions of salary, promotion, and other concerns of each scholar. Zhou Yan, winner of the Shanghai Sailing Plan and representative of young teachers from the college, and Zhang Shengqiang, winner of the National Natural Science Foundation Youth Program of the college, demonstrated their scientific research growth after joining the College of Science in detail.
The atmosphere of this symposium and exchange meeting was harmonious and open, and all the attending scholars were willing to join the School of Science.
On the afternoon of the 22nd, the sub forum was chaired by Professor Li Yigui, Dean of the School of Science, and attended by members of the party and government team, responsible professors, and department heads. The conference adopted a combination of online and offline methods, attracting more than 20 young and middle-aged scholars with excellent academic backgrounds and potential from around the world to attend. Scholars have graduated from well-known overseas universities such as the University of North Carolina and the University of Science and Design of Singapore, or from top domestic universities and research institutes such as the University of Science and Technology of Macau, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and East China Normal University. Scholars have introduced their academic pursuits, research work, research fields, as well as international academic frontiers and hot topics through special reports, academic discussions, and other means. Li Yigui gave a detailed introduction to the policies and measures of the school in talent introduction and cultivation, and warmly welcomed young talents from both domestic and foreign countries to come to the College of Science and the Dream of Science.
This forum has yielded fruitful results, with 7 potential scholars selected from both sides, further strengthening the construction of our high-level teaching staff, expanding our international perspective in disciplines and research, enhancing our international exchange level, and laying a solid foundation for the implementation of our future development plan to promote international education.
