Deputy secretary of  general party branch of School of Science in Shanghai Institute of  Technology(in charge), Chen Yong, host the closing ceremony.

  Zhang Suohuai, vice principal, addressed the closing  ceremony. First he extended congratulation on the successfully held of the  competition on behalf of the university and extended a warm welcome to the  participating teachers and students from 12 universities, high schools  directly under The Education Committee and all the high schools in various  districts of Shanghai. Vice principal Zhang Suohuai first talked about the  history of Shanghai Institute of Technology and finally talked about the  achievements of College Physics theory and experiment teaching in our  university. He encouraged award-winning students to be ambitious and take the  hill. He hoped that we can constantly promote the reform and development of  Physics basic and education and make contributions to enhancing applied  talents training by enhancing the communication with brother institutions.  Besides, he welcomed everyone to enter themselves for an examination of  Shanghai Institute of Technology.

   The competition was divided into three rounds. In each  round each team took turns to be the right side, opposite side and comment  side. Three teams who won best scores would participate in the final and  fight for the special prize. We set up 1 team special prize, 5 team first  prizes, 11 third prizes, 4 individual prizes and 1 organization prize in the  competition. After two days’ fierce competition, three teams of our  university won 1 team first prize, 1 team second team prize, 1 team third  prize, 2 individual prizes(Best Opposite Side Prize, Best Female Student  Prize) and 1 best organization prize. This is the best result of our  university.

   Shanghai Physics Competition for College Students is a  regional competition and s reference to the model of National Physics  Competition for College Students. It is a Physics competition in the form of  team debate and confrontation. It not only investigate students’ academic ability  to analysis and solve complex problems, but also comprehensively develop  students’ knowledge, ability and quality as well as seat up a platform for  communication of various schools and searching for the cultivation model of  high-quality Physics talents. The students debated directing at basic  knowledge, theoretical analysis, experiment design, research project and  result discussion of 17 Physics problems which have multiple right answers,  which is of great value to scientific education.

   From July 7 to July 8, 2018, the 5th Shanghai PhysicsCompetition  for College Students and the 4th Physics Competition for HighSchool  Students which was sponsored by Shanghai Physics Society, undertaken  byShanghai Institute of Technology and co-organized by School of Science  underShanghai Institute of Technology, was successfully held in  Fengxian campus. On the afternoon of August 8, the closing ceremony of  the Physic Competition was held in the room B106 of the library in the  Fengxian campus.

   Shanghai  Institute of Technology specially invited the Academician Chu Junhao to make  a report entitled “Drive the world with Physics” for the closing ceremony in  order to expand ideas of teachers and students, show the application value of  Physics and broaden horizons.

25 teams from 12 universities including Donghua  University, Fudan University, East China University of Science and  Technology, East China Normal University, Shanghai University, Shanghai  Polytechnic University, Shanghai University of Electric Power, Shanghai Jiao  Tong University, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Shanghai  Normal University, Shanghai Institute of Technology and Tongji University and  other teams from high schools direct under the Education Committee and high  schools of several districts in Shanghai participated in this competition.  Shanghai Tech University, Shanghai University of Engineering, Nanjing  University and Suzhou University inspected it. The organization of this  competition has been widely praised by Shanghai Physics Society, the  Organization Committee of the Physics Competition and all the students and  teachers who participated in the competition!
